Application of Multiple Intelligence Learning to Enhance Interest and Achievement in Learning Physics on the topic of Work at the SMP Budi Mulia Padon, Sendang Rejo, Minggir, Sleman, D.I. Yogyakarta




ABSTRACT 

      This study aims to determine whether the method of multiple inteligences learning  can  help  students  be interested  in  physics  and  improve  student achievement in the Budi Mulia junior class VIII on the matter of work. 
      The research was carried out in the SMP Budi Mulia in January to February 2012. The population in this study were Budi Mulia junior high school students while the study sample was a class VIII students, amounting to 34 students.
      This study used the following instruments: (1) pretest and posttest to examine student learning outcomes in physics, (2) a questionnaire to examine students' interest and (3) interview.
    Pretest and posttest grade was analyzed by T-test for dependent groups were tested using SPSS program. Questionnaire interviews and data observation were analyzed qualitatively.
     The results showed that the physics learning with the theory of multiple intelligences (1) improved students achivement and (2) improved students interest to wards physics.
